CRN Digital Talk Radio personality Larry Manetti is saying “aloha” to another Hawaiian-themed television series. The “Magnum, P.I.” legend has joined the cast of the hit CBS action/drama series “Hawaii Five-0” and will recur as “Nicky ‘The Kid’ Demarco.”
“We’re very proud of Larry and couldn’t be more thrilled for him,” said Michael J. Horn, CRN’s CEO and president. “As television enthusiasts, we’re equally as excited.”
Manetti and his wife, Nancy, host CRN’s “P.M. Show” every Tuesday at 7 p.m. Eastern/4 p.m. Pacific. The couple has been with the radio network since June 2011.
Manetti starred alongside Tom Selleck in the long running hit “Magnum, P.I.” He portrayed “Orville ‘Rick’ Wright,” a playboy who managed an exclusive club – and was also a weaponry expert. He was series regular on “Black Sheep Squadron” and has recurred in over a dozen other television series.
TV Guide’s William Keck describes Demarco as a “local lounge legend” who “back in the day…was mentored by the one and only Frank Sinatra. Manetti’s character will assist the Five-0 team with a case as well as croon the Sinatra standard, ‘I Got You Under My Skin.’”
Manetti begins shooting next week and his television production schedule is not expected to impact his CRN commitments. His debut “Hawaii Five-0” episode – which is entitled ‘Pa’ ani’ – is expected to air in late February.
